FMCSA Orders Mississippi-based Carbo Limo of Oxford to Cease Interstate Passenger Service

In another case of FMCSA, it ordered Carbo Limo of Oxford to stop its operations within no time of passenger service in the state. According to detailed investigation of this, the company was having two coaches that were used in the state and were totally unsafe and also the driver’s driving experience was not in accordance to federal safety regulations.

According to the words of U.S transportation secretary, safety is their highest priority and anyone using the road must reach their destination safely. Safety can’t be compromised at any cost.

Carbo Limo is basically a hiring passenger carrier that is comprised of 10 passenger vans one limousine for its operations in the state.  But it also operates two large coaches to provide passenger service within the state. FMCSA revoked the operations of Carbo Limo of transportation for passengers.

FMCSA took a lot of steps like that from the start of its duty especially against those who were highly risking the lives passengers through safety investigators.  In the past few days, FMCSA has ceased the operations of some bus companies in Columbia, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, New York and Utah. From the beginning of 2013, FMCSA has stopped the operations of 16 bus and trucking companies. Also some of the driver’s license was also banned because they were considered as hazard for being operated within the state.

According to the administrator of FMCSA, their “Operation Quick teams” are working from one end to another to ensure safety regulations. Safety will not be sacrificed. They are hopeful to fulfill their duty by stopping all the dangerous carriers from putting public travel at risk.

According to the report of FMCSA, Carbo Limo was failed in ensuring about repair and maintenance of its vehicles on regular basis. The inspection sticker of the company was false and also there was no record found about test conducted on emergency doors on its two motor coaches that were operated within the state.

Violating the rules of federal regulations, Carbo Limo employed the drivers before taking their drug and alcohol tests. Also company violated the regulations for taking drug and alcohol test for drivers. Apart from that, company was not able to ensure the compliance of its drivers with federal hours of service regulations. And also company at times issued a driver who was not having any license.

FMCSA provides another service to the passengers of checking out the company’s record before buying a ticket to ensure their safety.

FMCSA also provides its checklist to the passengers before using the service of any bus company. Also FMCSA provides its toll free numbers to report any kind of unsafe bus company. The fair of passengers will be returned back if they have paid via credit card through Fair Credit Billing Act if the bus company has recently been placed out of service by FMCSA.
